Grief, Loss & Healing-When you’ve lost a pet/friend…

Angelina - FidgetOur cats and dogs are often like family.  All last week, I’ve been on that emotional roller coaster.  Things are looking good, I’ll be able to bring my 16 year old cat, Fidget, home…Then, things got worse.  Fidget will never come home again.  I had to make the agonizing decision to put her to sleep-her kidneys shut down, probably due to cancer.  I was there with her til the end.

I pretty much had a very non-productive week.  Concentration was nil.  Went to the vet-almost daily.  Haven’t really eaten much.  I know people are sick and dying.  In the scheme of things, it’s just a cat.  She was family.angelinaI’ve been searching for a picture of Fidget-none are on my computer!  I found my dog, Angelina.  Fidget used to come in her area and drink her water-only fair, that dog loved to drink Fidget’s.  Even Angelina is wondering where she is.

Jasper was one of my first cats, 12 years with us and same end.  It makes me think how lucky we are to have these fur-persons in our lives.  I miss mine.  Hug and pet yours.
