A friend just emailed how much she loves my new website look.Great colors, very welcoming…This got me to thinking, colors really ARE important! I have had about 5 websites. I’m hardly a web Expert, this is what I’ve learned along the way…
When you’ve decided to get a website, check the portfolios of possible web designers, you get these names in a number of different ways . Ask others. Look at websites you like…at the bottom of the page is usually the designer.
I chose wtcmarketing.com from others for their design team and the factor of writing all the content. WTC hosts my site, arranged for a photo shoot and set up a content interview. If I had to write it, while I could, but it would take longer. My site was up and running in 8 weeks!:)
So, color is extremely important. Read up on what feeling is associated with each of the basic color palettes. What you want your reader to do ( Call To Action).
Another important consideration is what you say about what you do. Now, my design team with a Content Expert took many considerations off my shoulders. Another web designer may not.
After color, call to action, and conten, what’s left? You’re almost in business. Now you need to decide the feel and tone.
What do you want to convey to your reader/,surfer? There’s probably fancier words, but, I think how NY site makes you feel is critical. I want my audience to feel confident I can do what I say, understand where they’re coming from and can breathe easier know we’ll face this journey together while having fun and moving forward.
It’s that simple and that complicated.
