Entrepreneurs, by nature and often, necessity, wear many hats. Delegation is the key to sanity in this fast-paced world. The art of saying no to some things, frees you up for other important things, like family/friends- the special people in our lives.
Having a Virtual Assistant,VA, to do the tasks I either don’t know how to do or don’t care to do is the best way to say no in business. For example,Kim , my VA, does much of my technology but also gets out my newsletter and sometimes suggest ways I might do something. A VA is a personal assistant/executive secretary and, sometimes, an IT professional. Their business is a VA business with many clients who depend on them. How cool is that?
Other things to say no to could be things that affect your business’ bottom line. Not automating when you can can be a waste of your time as you “reinvent the wheel” each time you send the same email or answer a similar question. Time is a huge resource and one with a finite number of hours-I can’t give you more time or sell you extra minutes, either.
In the online world, I need to have systems in place to work smarter & use my time wisely. So, I say no to doing the same thing over & over again. My email telling a new member of my Momentum Group Mastermind & Individual Coaching Program of the conference number and how to get most out of our group, was written once and automated. Mail Chimp, my email system, has auto responders or,as they call it, automation.
Another item to say no to are using too many different Marketing techniques. It’s said the largest chunk of time for any business is Marketing. I’ve learned that it’s important to concentrate on a few Marketing strategies and do them consistently rather than being overwhelmed and not really doing any of them well! A big no is rushing to set up a new sales funnel WITHOUT testing the market!
And a BIG area for saying no to are programs, self study courses and other “bright, shiny objects” that take me away from my purpose-helping others! Seeing others achieve their goals & dreams & love life is the best! And definitely, I’ll say yes to that!
