Picture a beautiful, dry California desert, the home of the Enlightened Warrior Camp run by Peak Potentials, New Peaks-a personal development company and this camp was amazing and fun and challenging. I just got back from Enlightened Warrior Camp in Joshua Tree, CA-the high desert! Yep, I said the desert. Sand, heat, sweat and needing about a half gallon (at least!) of water. Yet, it was an absolutely amazing experience.
Hard to believe, it was only week, felt like more-as I got very close to many people in my tribe! There were four tribes of 49-51 Warriors. The bonding through sharing the adventure. I was in Fire Nation and we made up our own cheer! I can honestly say I made some lifelong friends. We were armed with contact information and now just got a closed Fire Nation Facebook invitation, how cool is that?
Joshua Tree is considered an positive energy place and much loved site for spiritual seekers and is a spread out Retreat Center. Many Native Americans lived in the hills/mountains. Two hundred arrived hungry for this empowering knowledge as we had a variety of trainings. W did yoga & movement every morning. I did seated yoga & did the dancing-(Nia), near my chair. I did all the activities. This was where I “inspired” my tribe! Their words, not mine.
I used an inner strength and determination I didn’t know I had. This week is designed to teach you about your true self and gives you strategies to handle that critical little voice we all have -“You can’t do this!”. “You’re too idiotic, thin, fat, stupid. a networking disaster!” I refused to let my disability stop me!
My tribe just naturally lent me a hand, carried my back pack or water and I rested more or slowed down to let me catch up. Big, testosterone-filled guys were some of the kindest and gentlest. I had many helpers among them. Thank you Marc, Gallo, Danny, Michael, Kenny, Ron plus the kind women, Kelly, Chisato, Pearl, Aya & Yoko Valerie,Warena, Dorothy, Glenna, my heart-centered great friend and such a generous, Christine. She even drove me to my shuttle on the morning we left! I had the best time and roommates-Suzann,Donna, Barbara and me were in the last set of apts. A long way from most of the events! Dale was my great friend from another tribe I met at another Peaks event.
I had 200 or so Warrior friends and the many volunteers, Karma Crew. These volunteers travel on their own dime, and serve us as helpers and help set up the events. You know, giving back, and ensuring we new Enlightened Warrriors get a very meaningful experience.
You know, people with disabilities take themselves out of the game! But, paraplegic, wheelchair-bound, broken arms/leg & others, like me, with mob- ility issues. They have all graduated and are warriors, as did I!
I’d recommend this program to folks looking to make a bigger impact, want success, end procrastination, be more confident and a happier human being. Aho!
I know there are other Enlightened Warriors and part of the Peaks family or perhaps you’d recommend another training.
