A client was very excited about starting her new business…this has been the case for awhile. She had to get her LLC and register her company and get a sales ID which she may or may not need-her products-when she creates them will be all online-info-products like eBooks,mP3’s and maybe videos…She is very creative and an “ideas-woman” but, she has to make sure everything is in order.
When at my Global Mastermind Retreat, we spoke of ‘sloppy success is better than perfect mediocrity”. I said this and there was silence. I waited it out. Sometimes the best coaching has to honor the silence. I could hear her wheels turning…She said you mean I should just begin, she said in fear-filled voice.
I told her about the concept of “ready, fire, aim”-more silence. It had to land and be dissected so she could see herself in this concept. We’d spoken before about the concept of “good enough”. We had developed her goals sheet and she wanted to have time to add pictures and even, audio…I told her it was good enough. Were her goals understandable, specific, measureable realistic and time-dependent-SMART goals?
She answered hesitantly-“ye-esss” Thus, good enough. I reminded her of this and other examples she’d brought up that manifested in her life.
So, the next step going forward? Being okay with good enough and being a “sloppy success”! She starts in less than a month! Has perfection held you back from finishing? Please share!
