Transitioning again…

Saturday, I spoke at the World of Possibilities Expo-Disabilities, Healthy Aging & Independent Living Expo  The audience was attentive & supportive as I needed to lean on a precariously balanced table-imagine me falling butt over teakettle!  And, eventually, had to just sit down.  Gone are the days of standing while presenting and moving about the room!

I’ve been very transparent and let you see behind the curtain,so to speak.  My stamina is not what it used to be.  Before my presentation, I visited mostly all the four rows of booths,gathering information and meeting the many caring individuals dedicated to helping people with disabilities of all flavors, development, physical and psychological/mental disabilities were represented. Who wasn’t present?  The state and government agencies like the Dept of Vocational Rehabilitation, MD Disability Law Center, to name a few. This being held outside the traditional M-F just emphasizes how they are entrenched in the idea of not working on Saturday!  Others did!

Mona & Jay Freedman are the power couple behind  the various activities of out this extensive site!) the World of Possibilities Expos- from Bridal to this Expo to having a New Years bash with music and dancing and celebration!

Not sure about the dancing, which I love-but my balance is not what it used to be…Then, I look at the joyful abandon at Club 111, a “club” atmosphere sponsor by the League,check the schedule for the next opportunity to dance & have fun.  Dancing in wheelchairs and bodies that may not work always smoothly, are still people and enjoy many of the activities we take for granted!
