Celebrating the new year-turning resolutions into goals!

It is now way past time to have put away the noise makers away…Auld Lang Syne will sung Dec. 31st, 2015!  But is it a “bucket of ice water” dose of reality?  Will you be making those same resolutions again & again &…? Or will you accomplish those resolutions you made so quickly-on a whim?

You can start by fleshing out each New Year’s Resolution and making it a goal.   One of the favorite  is “I’m going to lose weight.”  Then, how many pounds are you going to lose”?  Same thing when your have more money-a great goal to have…Write down a dollar amount so you know what you’re shooting for.  Take some time to quietly write down your goals in a journal.  Almost all of my clients thank me for starting this habit  I’ve had a journal-writing on and off since fourth grade!

Keeping a journal helps me put my thoughts in perspective.  What you really need to get done, gets done.I’ve mentioned I write a daily to do list as well as a coaching Daily Actions sheet I send MY coach!  I write everything-that increases the likelihood of accomplishing my goals.  Hint-if you ambitiously make your To Do list  with 10+ items to do…Cut it down to 5-6, there isn’t a right number, just try not to shoot yourself in the foot” by over-promising and under-delivering.

Set a realistic number-5-6 and when they’re all done and ONLY then, can you do another task on that ToDo list!

I’ll talk to you tomorrow about an often forgotten rule…
