GREASE is the word…I love musicals-Gene Kelly, Fred & Ginger, Camelot, GREASE…I love them all!
Last night, I watched the 25th anniversary video of GREASE-yikes! I remember my 1st time seeing it!
And a few nights ago, I was watching the History of the Musical on public TV-(summer reruns were on!)
It talked about how musicals brought us to happy, simpler times with clear cut lines of good & bad, hero or villain, heroine or not…
Musicals were more popular during war, unrest, Cold War…
Thought of GREASE-preppies vs. greasers-simple. Set in the 50s-easy plot-boy meets girl, says goodbye, sees girl-acts like a "cool" jerk, loses girl, wins her back after she changes!
Well, at least, it was simple then…Not Now. Changing yourself to please someone else is futile and very disappointing. If it’s not really you-you’ll resent this role- it could be to win a relationship, a job, a career, even, your image of how a small business person should be.
This isn’t a musical-but very simple-life is here & now-not a dress rehearsal before the BIG SHOW!
